Children's Spirituality

“The adult who wants to give a child a moral formation … should announce God’s love and help the child to experience and enjoy it in reflection and prayer.”
- Sophia Cavaletti

Consciously creating a God-centered home environment, parents answer their call to be “living Icons” of God's truth and beauty, empathy and compassion, values, standards, and forgiveness.

Home or Parish Experiences
Faith is essential in forming the whole child.
“Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child’s earliest years. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God.”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church

In monthly home visits or parish group experiences, trained FAITH Facilitators support parents with child development methods influenced by Maria Montesorri, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and other researched methods of strengthening faith formation in the family.

Why is the parent-child relationship central to faith formation?
Parent and Child
Faith relationships shared between a loving parent and child have been proven to increase resilience in adolescents and young adults by 85%.
- Dr. Lisa Miller in The Spiritual Child
At FAITH we believe...
-
Development of the whole child must include conscious fostering of the child's natural spiritual capacity.

-
Moral character development begins with deep respect for the child along with formation in virtues that flows from the child's loving relationship with parents.

-
Imaginative hands-on play reflecting Bible stories and elements of Catholic worship can lead a toddler to a joyful experience of God in wonder, family and personal prayer.
